IBASHO Care
Bringing Emotional Wellness to the Underserved
We believe that wellness should not be a privilege. It is a right.
Ibasho Mindfulness is committed to bridging the wellness divide through the Ibasho Care Programme—an initiative dedicated to making wellness accessible to the underserved.
Why It Matters?
Underprivileged and disabled groups often face wellness deprivation and neglect. According to a research conducted by IMH in 2021, only 1 in 3 youths with emotional distress from lower-income households seek professional help.
Emotional Neglect
A 2023 MSF study found that children from lower-income families were two times more likely to be affected by emotional distress, often due to family instability, and lack of psychological safety.
Inadequate Support by Mainstream Wellness
According to a 2022 NCSS study, 70% of people with disabilities in Singapore report feel there is inadequate support in traditional education and wellness settings.
Lack of Mental Health Awareness in Marginalised Communities
A study by the National Council of Social Service (NCSS) in 2021 found: 7 in 10 individuals with mental health needs did not seek help due to stigma or lack of knowledge and financial means.
How We Help:
We strongly believe that wellness should not be a priviledge, but accessible to all. By addressing identified gaps - affordability, accessibility, stigma, our inclusive wellbeing collective can effectively close the gaps through the following –
Affordable Holistic Wellness
Our model ensures programs are available to all, regardless of ability to pay. Pay-it-forward & sliding-scale models ensure nobody is excluded due to cost.
Inclusive & Tailored
Our wellbeing programs are tailored, serving people of different learning abilities and physical conditions.
Community Awareness & Outreach
Outreach & Awareness: Community-based education, workshops, and campaigns to normalise mental health conversations and reduce stigma.

Joy has conducted 5 sessions for my students and they really enjoyed it. The lessons were engaging and Joy was well liked by the students. Apart from that, I can see Joy is really passionate in this area as the training materials were applicable in our usual routine, which helped us to realise the importance of practising mindfulness in our daily lives. Thank you, Joy!

'Unlock Your Ikigai' sessions empowered youth to reflect deeply on their values, passions, and strengths. Many participants shared how the experience helped them reframe challenges and gain clarity on their goals. Facilitator's professionalism, mindfulness-based approach, and ability to build trust with participants of varying ages significantly enriched the experience for our beneficiaries.
