IBASHO Care
Bringing Emotional Wellness to the Underserved in Singapore.
As a registered and globally accredited social enterprise, Ibasho Care aim to bridge the wellness gap—offering inclusive, science-backed emotional wellness support to children & youth in communities too often left behind.
Why It Matters?
The underprivileged communities often face chronic stress, trauma, and a lack of emotional support. These challenges go unaddressed, leading to long-term mental health struggles. Ibasho Care steps in early—offering a mindful, inclusive intervention that supports emotional resilience and self-worth.
Emotional Neglect
A study by the Singapore Children’s Society noted that children from low-income households are more vulnerable to emotional neglect due to parental stress, financial hardship, and lack of resources.
Long-term Mental Health Risks
Suicide remains the biggest cause of death for those aged 10-29 in Singapore. Emotional neglect during early developmental years is linked to:
Chronic anxiety, depression, addiction, and suicidal ideation in adolescence and adulthood (Source: MOH Mental Health Report 2023).
Lack of Mental Health Awareness in Marginalised Communities
A study by the National Council of Social Service (NCSS) in 2021 found: 7 in 10 individuals with mental health needs did not seek help due to stigma or lack of knowledge and financial means.

Joy has conducted 5 sessions for my students and they really enjoyed it. The lessons were engaging and Joy was well liked by the students. Apart from that, I can see Joy is really passionate in this area as the training materials were applicable in our usual routine, which helped us to realise the importance of practising mindfulness in our daily lives. Thank you, Joy!
